Chapter 24

Future judgment (on the entire earth): 24:1-22

Future Kingdom of God: 24: 23

All mankind broke the "everlasting covenant" (the natural law?) (24:5). The "inhabitants of the earth" will be "burned" and only "a few men are left" (24:6). See also 24:13: "As the shaking of an olive tree, as the gleanings when the grape harvest is over."

Who are the few who are left? Not the people of Israel, but a remnant of the inhabitants of the earth.

"Thus it will be in the midst of the earth among the peoples, as the shaking of an olive tree, as the gleanings when the grape harvest is over. They cry out from the west concerning the majesty of the LORD. Therefore glorify the LORD in the east, the name of the LORD, the God of Israel in the coastlands of the sea. From the ends of the earth we hear songs, "Glory to the Righteous One ..." (24:13-16).

All that will remain is the Kingdom of God:

"For the LORD of hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and His glory will be before His elders" (24:23).
